Ma quali sono le principali caratteristiche dei due sistemi?
Thunderbolt e OCuLink differiscono principalmente in termini di utilizzo.
Thunderbolt 4 è un’interfaccia usb che integra trasferimento dati, video e alimentazione in un unico cavo, offrendo elevate prestazioni per dispositivi esterni come dischi, monitor e dock, grazie alla sua capacità di connessione in serie e alla larghezza di banda fino a 40Gbps nelle versioni più recenti.
OCuLink, invece, è una porta PCI express 4x o 8x (quindi direttamente collegata alla CPU) resa connettore e focalizzata sul collegamento interno dei componenti del PC, come schede video, audio o di networking.
Questa distinzione rende Thunderbolt più versatile per applicazioni multimediali, mentre OCuLink si adatta meglio a configurazioni interne e espansioni dirette.
